On Wednesday night, Dec. 13, 2023 at 11:32 p.m., Tukwila Police officers responded to the 14400 block of 56th Ave S. (map below) for the reports of a vehicle parked in front of some mailboxes.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the illegally-parked vehicle had recently been reported stolen to Seattle PD and that a male was sleeping in the driver’s seat.
Officers made several announcements on their PA for 30 minutes, but that did not wake the suspect. They then used a less-lethal round to break the back window of the vehicle to wake him up, but that also didn’t work.
Officers eventually approached the vehicle, removed the male from the driver’s seat, and took him into custody.
The male was identified as a 32-year-old Tukwila resident.
He was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked at the Tukwila PD.
