Just before 2 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, Puget Sound Fire responded to a commercial fire in the 14600 block of Tukwila International Boulevard (map below).
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames visible from both the attic area as well as the basement.
Due to unsafe building conditions, firefighters had to transition to a defensive fire attack.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire will be investigated once the scene is safe.
Northbound Tukwila International Blvd was closed for a while.
This location appears to be that of the Sophiya Grocery Store, which is situated in an historic, 3,866 square feet building that was built in 1928.
