Tukwila Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects accused of stealing about $4,000 worth of merchandise from a department store in what investigators describe as an organized retail crime case.
Police said the two suspects entered the Tukwila store, grabbed merchandise near the entrance and fled on foot before getting into a vehicle waiting nearby.
Police released photos and video of the suspects and are asking anyone who recognizes them to come forward.
The case is being investigated by Detective Ryan Mosley, the department’s retail theft detective. Tukwila Police said Mosley has worked with law enforcement agencies and retailers throughout the region to identify and apprehend people involved in organized retail thefts.
“For those of you who don’t know and as an introduction to our ORC criminals, Detective Mosley is our retail theft detective who has been doing an incredible job of identifying and bringing charges against ORC suspects who want to try their hand and shoplift for profit in our community,” the department said in a social media post.
Police emphasized that organized retail crime cases can result in felony charges.
“To be clear, these are felony charges and not minor slaps on the wrist/cite and release charges,” the department said. “If you show up here to commit ORC crimes, we will investigate and pursue charges.”
