Two juveniles were arrested early Friday morning, Mar. 28, 2025, after a failed attempt to steal multiple vehicles from a rental car lot in Tukwila ended in significant damage and a swift police response, authorities said.
Just before 2 a.m., Tukwila Police Officers responded to reports of a break-in at a commercial rental car lot. Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspects had managed to start two vehicles—but their escape attempt quickly unraveled.
“Their driving abilities were not on par with their burglary skills,” police said in a statement, “and the suspects engaged in a game of bumper cars while attempting to maneuver the vehicles they had stolen out of the lot.”
Both suspects attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly taken into custody at the scene.
The case has been referred to the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) for further investigation.
The names of the juveniles have not been released due to their age.
No injuries were reported.
