A Seattle man accused of fatally stabbing another man in Tukwila last month has been arrested in Utah, authorities said.
Jose Antonio Cedeno-Ponce, 20, was taken into custody on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025 by the FBI Violent Crime Task Force and the Orem Police Department, according to Tukwila Police.
The arrest follows an investigation that began on Jan. 10, when Tukwila officers responded to a reported fight in the 14400 block of Tukwila International Boulevard. As we previously reported, when they arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel, the victim died from his injuries.
Detectives from the Tukwila Police Major Crimes Unit developed probable cause to arrest Cedeno-Ponce and later determined he had fled to Utah. Working with law enforcement partners in that state, officers were able to track him down and take him into custody.
Cedeno-Ponce remains in custody in Utah, where he is awaiting extradition to Washington. He has been charged in King County Superior Court with second-degree murder.
Further details about the case were not immediately available.
