The Tukwila City Council is accepting applications to fill Position No. 7, which was vacated after De’Sean Quinn was appointed to the King County Council for District 5.

To qualify, applicants must be registered to vote in King County and have been a Tukwila resident for at least one year prior to the appointment date.

The selected individual will serve until the November 2025 General Election, when the position will be up for a full term.

Compensation is $1,250 per month, plus certain medical benefits.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

Interview and Selection Process

Qualified applicants will be invited to an interview at a Special Meeting tentatively set for Monday, March 3, 2025. Additional meetings may be scheduled depending on the number of applicants. Interviews will last 20 minutes per candidate, with questions provided in advance.

Following interviews, the City Council will deliberate in Executive Session, after which nominations and a vote will take place in a public Special Meeting.

Appointed candidates must file financial disclosure statements with the Public Disclosure Commission in accordance with Washington state law.
