A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in Tukwila shortly after Noon on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, after police deployed tire deflation devices to stop the suspect’s flight.
The vehicle, which had been stolen earlier in Renton, also contained the registered owner’s loaded firearm, which was recovered at the scene.
Officers attempted to stop the suspect by deflating the vehicle’s tires, but the driver continued to flee on the compromised tires. During the pursuit, the suspect caused two separate collisions, bringing the chase to an end near Klickitat Drive and Southcenter Parkway.
One motorist sustained a minor injury in the collisions.
The suspect, found to have an active Department of Corrections escape warrant, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The Tukwila Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to investigate the collisions.
Authorities praised the quick actions of officers in recovering the loaded firearm and bringing the incident to a resolution.
