A Tukwila Police Officer sustained a broken finger during the arrest of a suspect with multiple felony warrants earlier this week, authorities reported.
The incident occurred in the 3400 block of South 146th Street (map below) after the officer recognized a driver with a suspended license and initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, the officer identified the passenger as another individual well-known to law enforcement, with several active felony warrants. The passenger became combative and attempted to flee on foot, leading officers on a brief pursuit into a nearby apartment complex. At one point, the suspect tried to break into a residence to evade capture.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody, but not before a physical struggle ensued, resulting in one officer suffering a broken finger.
The officer is currently recovering, and the suspect was booked into jail on multiple charges.
