A high-speed crash on I-5 resulted in a dramatic scene early Wednesday morning, Oct. 2, 2024 when a vehicle exited the roadway and ended up suspended vertically on an embankment near the Boeing Access Road exit, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:03 a.m. early Wednesday morning, when the driver of a southbound vehicle attempted to exit I-5 at Boeing Access Road at a high speed.

Authorities report that the vehicle veered off the roadway to the left, then overcorrected to the right, crashing through the guardrail.

The car came to a rest in a precarious vertical position on the embankment.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to secure the vehicle and ensure the safety of the driver. Both the driver and a passenger were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The Washington State Patrol said that the driver was impaired, and was charged with a DUI.

Authorities are urging drivers to be cautious, particularly when navigating highway exits.
