Just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, a Tukwila Police officer en route to a call spotted a vehicle stopped between two lanes in the 13300 block of Macadam Road South (map below).

Police said the vehicle was occupied by an adult male, who was acting erratically. The man exited the vehicle and was safely detained, though he had abrasions all over his arms.

It quickly became apparent that the man was under the influence of a narcotic, as he grew increasingly agitated and combative. He bit an EMT, spit at EMTs and officers, and was ultimately restrained on a gurney before being transported to the hospital.

A very young toddler was found inside the vehicle, unclothed and with numerous abrasions on his body. The child was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified and dispatched to the scene.

Officers noted that the vehicle had a damaged ignition column and a broken window, and determined that it was an unreported stolen vehicle from King County.

The suspect is now facing multiple charges related to this incident.

Macadam Road S. was closed in both directions during the encounter.
