Tukwila Police are reporting that on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023 at around 6 p.m., officers working retail emphasis patrols were alerted to an armed individual wearing a costume mask that had entered a store and was circling several sections of it.

Police say that responding officers located the suspect, who had moved inside of another store, but without the mask on.

As officers approached, the suspect jumped over a desk and fled on foot into the parking lot while keeping his hand in his pocket the entire time.

The suspect refused commands to stop and displayed a handgun during the foot pursuit.

The suspect was able to enter a vehicle parked nearby and flee in it while almost causing multiple collisions in the process.

A loaded handgun was recovered in the parking lot and the suspect’s mask was also recovered.

The suspect’s vehicle was recovered several hours later at a residence in Tacoma.

Upon arrest, the suspect will be facing multiple charges related to the incident.

“Thankfully no officers, bystanders or motorists were injured as a result of the suspect’s actions,” police said.
