Tukwila Police are reporting that on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at around 2:30 p.m. a Tukwila officer in the vicinity of the 14800 block of Tukwila International Blvd. (map below) observed a small brush fire on the east side of the road near the former Neighborhood Resource Center.
Police say that as the officer was calling for assistance from the fire department, he observed the fire beginning to rapidly spread in the direction of the nearby structure.
Realizing that the fire was spreading rapidly, the officer donned his gas mask and grabbed a nearby garden hose at which time he began fire suppression efforts.
Firefighters arrived on scene shortly thereafter and quickly extinguished the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
