The historic Delta Masonic Hall in Tukwila will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a public commemoration at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026.
The event will mark 100 years and one day after Grandmaster Walter F. Meir, of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Washington, laid the cornerstone for the hall on Sept. 25, 1926, in the lower Riverton area of what is now Tukwila.
Tukwila Mayor Thomas McLeod is scheduled to present a proclamation, and the grandmaster of Washington Masons will lead a ceremony to rededicate the cornerstone.
Delta Lodge No. 172 was chartered in 1909 by 25 Masons, including pioneer Joseph Foster. The lodge met in rented facilities for 17 years before building its own Masonic hall at the Tukwila site.
For more than a century, Delta Masonic Hall has served as a gathering place for meetings, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, quinceaneras, funerals, memorials, education and other community events.
The commemoration will include light refreshments, tours of the building, library and museum, historic photographs, and old documents, including property tax statements from 100 years ago compared with current taxes.
“The public and community are most cordially invited to this joyous celebration of a beautiful, historic 100 year old building,” Masons said.
