A fast-acting team of Tukwila Police officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel worked together on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 to prevent a vehicle from rolling down a steep embankment with its occupants still inside.
Police said the incident occurred in the Skyway area, on 49th Avenue South.
Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a vehicle that had veered mostly off the roadway and was precariously tipped, moments away from sliding downhill.
According to the Tukwila Police Department, Officer Hines was the first on scene and immediately grabbed onto the car to act as a counterweight, preventing it from tipping further.
Officers Delic and Nunez quickly arrived to assist, and together the team managed to hold the vehicle in place until Puget Sound Fire arrived.
Firefighters safely extracted the driver and passengers from the vehicle and stabilized it to prevent a rollover.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the incident is under investigation.
