Overnight lane closures along SR 99 continue starting Sunday, June 1, in SeaTac and Des Moines for an ongoing sidewalk improvement project.
Right lane closures are planned nightly on southbound SR 99 between South 200th Street in SeaTac and SR 516 in Des Moines from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, June 1, until Thursday morning, June 5.
Overnight closures also are planned on local streets where they intersect with SR 99 during the same times. Signed detours will guide people around the closures.
Nightly closure details
- Sunday and Monday, June 1-2: South 226th Street in Des Moines will close at the intersection with southbound SR 99 nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, June 1, through Tuesday morning, June 3.
- Tuesday, June 3: South 216th Street in SeaTac will close at the intersection with northbound and southbound SR 99 from 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 4.
- Wednesday, June 4: South 208th Street in SeaTac will close at the intersection with southbound SR 99 from 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, until 5 a.m. Thursday, June 5.
This work is part of a project to upgrade sidewalk ramps to modern Americans with Disabilities Act standards along a 2-mile section of SR 99 between South 200th Street in SeaTac and SR 516 in Des Moines. Starting in June, crews will begin repaving all lanes along this corridor.
