A man died after suffering a medical emergency while driving and crashing his vehicle along Southcenter Parkway, according to Tukwila Police.
Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the 17100 block of Southcenter Parkway (map below) overnight.
When police arrived, they found the vehicle had jumped the curb and come to a stop on the sidewalk after striking a concrete planter.
The driver was unresponsive and had sustained a significant leg injury, police said.
Officers applied a tourniquet at the scene to stop the bleeding before medics transported the man to a local hospital.
But sadly, despite emergency efforts, the driver died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that the crash was the result of a medical emergency that occurred while the man was behind the wheel.
No other vehicles were involved.
