A Tukwila Police officer arrested a woman on Tuesday night, Nov. 19, 2024 after she fled a traffic stop and led officers on a high-speed chase before abandoning her car near Southcenter Boulevard and I-5, then fleeing on foot.

The incident began when the officer attempted to stop the vehicle for a license plate violation. The woman, who was driving alone, sped away and entered SR 599.

Realizing the officer was still pursuing her, she attempted to circle back to evade capture.

She ultimately abandoned her vehicle and tried to escape on foot, but officers quickly apprehended her.

“She gave an improbable story that didn’t match up with the facts, earning her a Pinocchio Award,” police said. “She was taken into custody for felony eluding and booked.”
