The City of Tukwila, in partnership with GreenSheen Paint, will host a free Paint Recycling Event on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tukwila Community Center (map below).
The event will offer residents an opportunity to safely dispose of various types of paint and paint-related products.
Accepted items include latex and oil-based paint, stains, shellacs, lacquers, sealers, varnishes, urethanes, textured coatings, and containers that are five gallons or smaller.
Items that will not be accepted at the event include aerosol (spray) paint, paint thinner, solvents, cleaning agents, drywall mud, roof patch, adhesives, and other hazardous waste materials.
Community members are encouraged to register for the event online here. GreenSheen Paint, an eco-friendly paint company, will ensure that all collected materials are responsibly recycled.
This initiative aligns with Tukwila’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability by providing a safe and convenient way for residents to dispose of leftover paint.
