Over last weekend, Tukwila Police’s K9 Raider played a crucial role in apprehending two suspects wanted for firearm-related crimes.
After an exciting start to his shift on Friday night, hanging out with the Blue Angels during Seafair, K9 Raider quickly shifted into work mode, successfully tracking down both suspects later that evening.
The first incident occurred when Raider was requested to assist a neighboring jurisdiction in tracking a suspect who had shot someone. Raider swiftly picked up the scent and led officers to the suspect, who was then taken into custody.
Later that night, Tukwila officers responded to a business in the 14200 block of Tukwila International Blvd. after reports of an adult male pointing a gun at an employee during a dispute. The suspect fled on foot, prompting officers to set up a perimeter while K9 Raider tracked him.
The suspect, identified as the same individual involved in a similar incident the previous week and having an active warrant for a firearms violation, was located by Raider in the 14800 block of Tukwila International Boulevard (map below), attempting to hide behind a bus shelter.
The suspect was apprehended without incident.
