A 19-year-old male has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, which resulted in modified lockdowns of two Tukwila schools.

Police said that on Friday at approximately 12:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 14800 block of Tukwila International Boulevard (map below).

The armed suspect, described as a male, fled the scene on foot.

Due to the suspect’s direction and close proximity to Foster High School and Showalter Middle School, both schools were placed into a modified lockdown as a precautionary measure.

A K9 officer from the Kent Police Department assisted in the area search.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., the male suspect was located and arrested without incident.

The two schools were then released from lockdown.
