The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is reporting that a drive-by shooting on southbound I-5 near SR 900 (map below) sent a driver to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Friday night, July 7, 2023.

Troopers say that just after 8 p.m. on Friday night, WSP communications received a 9-1-1 call stating that their brother was shot as they were driving southbound I-5 near SR 900 and they were at a Chevron station off the freeway.

Tukwila P.D. and Troopers responded to the scene and discovered a light blue Toyota Camry (photo below) with multiple bullet holes, and the driver suffering from gunshot wounds.

The driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The passenger of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Further investigation revealed that this vehicle was traveling southbound I-5 approaching SR 900 when what was described as possibly a white Toyota Camry pulled alongside and the right front passenger and right rear passenger opened fire striking the vehicle several times.

Washington State Patrol detectives are seeking anyone with information on this drive-by shooting.
