Tukwila Police are reporting that an armed suspect was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 after allegedly brandishing a gun at a local business.
Police say that on Wednesday at around 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 100 block of Andover Park E. (map below) after an employee reported that a shoplifting suspect they were attempting to detain had produced a firearm, pointed it at them and threatened to shoot them with it.
The suspect fled on foot.
A responding officer located the suspect nearby and observed him from a distance until another officer was able to retrieve the employee to positively identify the suspect.
Upon positively identifying the suspect, officers had probable cause to arrest the suspect.
The suspect fled on foot and was observed by an uninvolved party throwing the firearm onto a roof.
Officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident and retrieve the firearm which was loaded with a round in the chamber.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail on robbery charges.
