The eastbound lane of S. 128th Street in Burien was closed Saturday morning, Aug. 31, between 4th and 6th Ave. S. (including the onramp to southbound SR 509; map below) while Burien Police investigated an injury collision involving two vehicles.
Police say that one vehicle fled from a recent shoplift and collided with a truck at a high rate of speed.
Two people in the fleeing vehicle sustained serious injuries and were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The other involved driver was not seriously hurt.
Police say they were not involved prior to the collision.
The King County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response and Reconstruction unit was on scene.
Police reopened the roadway around 2:30 p.m.
