Tukwila’s Permit Center will be closed to the public Sept. 28 through Oct. 2 as the city prepares to launch new online permitting system “SmartGov” on Oct. 6, according to the city.
The transition will temporarily interrupt some services, but inspections will continue as scheduled Oct. 1 through Oct. 5. Inspectors will record results on paper during that period, and staff will begin entering those results into SmartGov on Oct. 6.
The Permit Center will reopen Oct. 6 when the system goes live. The full permitting team will be on site throughout launch week to help customers and address transition issues, the city said.
During the closure, staff will complete final permit processing and prepare for the switch to SmartGov.
“We appreciate the community’s patience while we complete this important system upgrade!” the city said in its announcement.
