Tukwila Police officers rescued a man who was pinned beneath a vehicle early Thursday morning, Sept. 10, after it went off the roadway in the 14900 block of Interurban Ave South (map below), according to the department.

Officers responded just before 4 a.m. to a reported injury accident and found the man trapped under the vehicle.

Police said officers were able to lift the vehicle, pull him out from beneath it and move him to safety.

Puget Sound Fire crews arrived and began providing medical aid until an ambulance arrived and took the man to a hospital, police said.

Investigators learned from another person involved that the vehicle had broken down and the two were trying to push it uphill at an apartment complex.

The vehicle began rolling back, knocked the man down and trapped him underneath in nearby bushes before officers arrived.
