A man with an active felony warrant was arrested after fleeing on foot from officers Sunday night, Feb. 1, prompting a search that involved a police K9 and an aerial drone, according to the Tukwila Police Department.

Police said an officer spotted a known individual with an outstanding felony warrant and attempted to contact him. The man ran from the officer, leading to a foot pursuit.

K9 Raider was deployed to track the suspect while another officer launched a drone to assist with the search from the air.

Officers located the man hiding in a nearby backyard and took him into custody without incident.

“Being no stranger to the game, the suspect threw out a ‘Get out of jail free’ card by claiming to have ingested Fentanyl and being in need of medical treatment,” police said. “The card was denied and the bluff was called when an officer escorted him to the hospital and waited until he was medically cleared at which point he was promptly booked into jail on the warrant.”
