A 24-year-old Seattle man was killed and two others, including a Burien driver, were injured late Friday night, Oct. 24, 2025, in a rollover crash on northbound SR 599 near Interurban Avenue, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said the driver of a black 2002 Honda Civic lost control while heading northbound on SR 599 around 11:49 p.m. Friday night, struck the left shoulder barrier and rolled several times. Two passengers were ejected.

Here are the details:

  • Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on SR 599 near Interurban Avenue late Friday night, lost control in the right lane, struck the left shoulder barrier and rolled several times.
  • Two passengers  were ejected during the rollover.

  • One passenger from Seattle landed in the roadway and was struck by Vehicle 2. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

  • The second ejected passenger, a 24-year-old Burien man, was transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries.
  • Vehicle 2 fled the scene and did not stop.

  • The other passenger and Vehicle 1 came to rest on the left shoulder.

Both surviving occupants had been wearing seatbelts, while the deceased victim had not, troopers said.

WSP investigators listed speed as the cause of the crash. Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be involved.

The northbound ramp from I-5 to northbound SR 599 in Tukwila was closed for nearly four hours overnight, WSDOT said. Emergency responders reopened the ramp early Saturday morning, Oct. 25.

The hit-and-run driver of the second vehicle has not been identified.
