A man was arrested overnight in Tukwila after police say he tried to steal beer, then returned to a business and threw a rock through a window, striking an employee in the head.
Tukwila Police said officers responded to a business in the 15200 block of Tukwila International Boulevard (map below) after receiving a report of an armed robbery with a victim bleeding from the head. When officers arrived, witnesses told them the suspect had fled toward the nearby light rail station.
Officers quickly located the man and took him into custody.
Investigators determined the suspect had initially attempted to steal beer but was confronted by employees and left the store.
Police said he later returned, threw a large rock through the business window, and the rock hit an employee in the head, causing a laceration.
The suspect was booked into jail for assault, malicious mischief, and narcotics-related offenses, according to Tukwila Police.
