TPMPD: Sports Facilities Companies – Community Engagement Event – Stakeholder Discussion
The Tukwila Pool Metropolitan Park District (TPMPD) is working closely with Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), our contracted consultant, to lead a more focused feasibility analysis related to the potential development of a new and/or expanded aquatics facility in Tukwila. This effort builds on a previous study and aims to provide detailed insights that will guide our next steps.
As a part of this critical effort, the TPMPD has submitted a competitive grant application to King County requesting $5 million to support both planning and development. Additional funding opportunities are anticipated to be sought in the near and long-term future.
Upcoming stakeholder discussions will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to kick off this focused planning process, bringing together key community partners and decision-makers. These sessions will inform SFC’s research and strategy development, helping to refine project goals, scope, and directions. While on site, SFC will also tour potential locations, assess the local market, and gather input to support a comprehensive financial operational analysis.
As the TPMPD moves forward, it is essential that we gather input from valued members of the community. Your insights will help ensure that the programs, services, and facilities we develop reflect the priorities and needs of the communities we serve together.
We invite the public to participate in a small stakeholder discussion to share their vision for aquatics in the Tukwila community:
