The Tukwila Police Department reported a sharp drop in auto thefts but notable increases in DUI arrests and traffic related infractions during February 2026 compared with the same month last year.
According to police statistics released by the department, officers recorded eight auto thefts in February, a decrease of 18 compared with February 2025. Police also recovered 21 stolen vehicles during the month, three more than the previous year.
The department reported 14 DUI arrests in February, an increase of 12 compared with the same month in 2025.
Police also issued 255 infractions, up by 85 year over year. Officials said the increase followed numerous traffic stops that resulted in warrant arrests and arrests for other traffic and non traffic related crimes.
Other reported crimes included 30 assaults, an increase of eight compared with February 2025. Police recorded eight burglaries, down by one from the previous year, and four robberies, a decrease of two.
Shoplifting incidents totaled 108 in February, an increase of 26 compared with the same month last year.
