A driver was arrested on suspicion of hit and run and other charges after allegedly fleeing a two-vehicle collision late Monday, Feb. 23 at Southcenter Boulevard and West Valley Highway, according to the Tukwila Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the crash scene, where police said one of the drivers immediately ran away on foot, leaving his vehicle behind.
Tukwila officers asked the SeaTac Police Department to check the address of the registered owner of the vehicle. Police said the registered owner was located at the residence with injuries consistent with a collision and showed signs of impairment. A witness positively identified him as the driver who fled from the crash scene, according to police.
He was booked into jail for hit and run and other charges, police said.
In a separate incident, Officer Desmul conducted a traffic stop in the 11200 block of Tukwila International Boulevard and discovered the driver had a suspended license, according to police. The officer also noted signs of intoxication.
Police said the driver declined to participate in DUI testing, and a blood warrant was written and issued. The driver was booked into jail for DUI.
