Tukwila Police arrested a man for physical control of a vehicle and cited a 19-year-old woman for minor in possession in two separate incidents reported within the city this week, according to the Tukwila Police Department.

Officers responded just after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 to a business in the 15200 block of Tukwila International Boulevard after receiving a report of a man slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the keys in the ignition and his foot on the brake, police said.

According to police, officers observed tin foil with black residue, a butane lighter and a glass bong in plain sight on the center console. The man was detained and a Traffic Unit detective conducted a standardized field sobriety test. He was taken into custody for physical control and booked into jail, police said, adding that he has an extensive criminal history including a prior DUI.

In a separate incident later that night, officers responded to a report of a high centered vehicle near Andover Park West and Tukwila Parkway. Police located the vehicle stuck on a curb near the roadway.

Officers detained a 19-year-old female in the vehicle who was exhibiting signs of intoxication. Police said they were unable to establish probable cause for physical control or DUI but cited the woman for minor in possession due to open containers of alcohol found in the vehicle. She was released to a parent and her vehicle was impounded, according to police.
