Tukwila Police reported several overnight arrests in separate incidents involving theft, robbery and impaired driving, according to the Tukwila Police Department.
In one case, officers responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in the 300 block of Strander Boulevard, where loss prevention staff recognized a man from prior theft incidents, police said. Officers arrived in time to see the man leave the store with televisions that had not been paid for. He was taken into custody and booked into jail, according to police.
In a separate incident, officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at a department store after a man and woman were reported shoplifting, police said. When approached by loss prevention staff, the man displayed a knife and threatened employees, according to the department. Sgt. Zaehler and Detective Kunsmann, who were already nearby, located both suspects walking through the parking lot and detained them without incident as they crossed Strander Boulevard.
Police said K9 Raider conducted an evidence track that led to the recovery of discarded clothing and a knife. Both suspects were booked into jail on robbery charges, according to the Tukwila Police Department.
In another overnight arrest, Officer Moon stopped a vehicle in the 3700 block of South 144th Street, police said. The driver was found to be driving while license suspended in the second degree and had an active DUI warrant out of Bellevue. He was booked into jail on the warrant and cited for the traffic violation, police said.
Officers Anderson and Nunez also conducted a traffic stop in the 17500 block of Southcenter Parkway, where a female driver showed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody, according to police.
