The evacuation alert for residents and businesses east of the Green River in the Orillia area of Tukwila was lifted Monday evening, Dec. 15, and a flash flood warning affecting parts of Tukwila, Renton and Kent was canceled, according to King County Emergency Management.
Officials said the alert was lifted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, and was deemed safe for people to return to the affected area.
While conditions have improved, authorities urged residents and business owners to remain cautious and stay informed in case weather or river conditions change. The area is now under a Ready Level 1 status, which means people should be aware of potential risks and be prepared to leave if conditions worsen.
