Portions of the Green River Trail in Tukwila were closed Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025 due to very high river flows, according to a social media post by the City of Tukwila.
City officials said sections of the trail are submerged under the Tukwila International Boulevard bridge along the Duwamish River and beneath I-405 and Southcenter Boulevard. Both locations are now closed to the public.
The closures come as the region continues to experience elevated river levels, creating unsafe conditions along low lying trail segments.
“Please remember to follow all temporary trail and roadway closure signs for your safety,” the city said in its update.
No reopening timeline has been announced.
