Tukwila Police officers and Valley SWAT arrested a domestic violence suspect early Friday morning, Oct. 24, 2025, after he allegedly assaulted a woman, barricaded himself inside a home, and refused to surrender while an 8-year-old child remained inside.
Police said officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. to the 4200 block of Southcenter Boulevard (map below) for a domestic violence report. Responding officers found a woman outside the residence with visible injuries from the assault. Tukwila Police reported that firefighters treated her at the scene before she was transported to a hospital.
The male suspect was believed to be armed with a firearm and barricaded himself inside the home with a child who could not escape, according to police. Officers set up a perimeter while Valley SWAT and hostage negotiators were called to assist.
Shortly after 7 a.m., police said, the suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
The child, who had been hiding inside the residence, was located unharmed and released to family members.
The suspect is facing a felony charge of second-degree assault, domestic violence, according to Tukwila Police.
“Thank to our partner law enforcement agencies (Port of Seattle PD, Federal Way PD, Auburn PD) who responded to assist in bringing this incident to a safe close,” Tukwila PD said in a statement.
