The City of Tukwila is inviting community members to join local Forest Stewards in October to help plant trees, shrubs and pollinator plants in city parks as part of its Green Tukwila program.
The city said no experience is needed to participate, and tools and training will be provided at each event.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring energy and enthusiasm as they work to restore natural areas and support a healthier environment.
The following events are scheduled:
- Riverside Restoration, Green River Trail at Bicentennial Park: Wednesday, Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Planting at Cottonwood Corner, Riverton Creek: Thursday, Oct. 9, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
