A pickup driver was arrested for DUI after rear-ending a semi truck on northbound SR 99 just north of SR 599, the Washington State Patrol reported early Friday, Sept. 26, 2025.
Troopers said the pickup had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the semi, which was moving at freeway speeds.
The driver of the pickup suffered a broken leg and was taken into custody for investigation of driving under the influence.
The crash blocked traffic in the area as tow trucks responded, and WSP warned drivers to expect delays.
