Tukwila Police arrested a man Thursday morning, July 31, 2025, after he allegedly brandished a machete, struck a vehicle, and assaulted an officer during an altercation at a local gas station.
Officers were called just after 11 a.m. to the 6800 block of South 180th Street (map below), where witnesses reported that a man was swinging a machete and hitting a vehicle, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect “in a highly agitated state,” according to a Tukwila Police statement.
As officers tried to detain him, he struck one of them and resisted arrest.
“It took numerous officers to get him under control and restrained,” police said.
The man is expected to be booked into jail on charges of assault and malicious mischief.
No serious injuries were reported.
