One person is dead and two others injured following a three-vehicle head-on collision early Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025 on SR 900 near 57th Ave South, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:55 a.m. on July 23, when the driver of a green 2000 Ford Ranger traveling westbound veered across the median and struck two eastbound vehicles — a gray 2021 Toyota RAV4 and a white 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan — in lane two of the highway.

Sadly, the driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan later passed from her injuries at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Here’s how this fatal collision unfolded:

  • Around 5:55 a.m., a green 2000 Ford Ranger was traveling westbound on SR 900 near 57th Ave South.
  • The Ford Ranger veered across the median into oncoming traffic and first collided with a gray 2021 Toyota RAV4, which was traveling eastbound.
  • The impact rotated the RAV4 across the median line.
  • The Ford Ranger then struck a second eastbound vehicle — a white 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan.
  • All three vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane.
  • One person, the driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where sadly, she was later pronounced deceased.
  • The driver of the Ford Ranger was also transported to Harborview with injuries and is facing vehicular homicide charges.
  • The driver of the RAV4 was treated at the scene and released.
  • The roadway was fully blocked for 4 hours and 17 minutes during the investigation and cleanup.
  • Drugs and alcohol were not involved, according to the WSP.
